ATTENTION INCOMING IFS STUDENTS
Due to increased IFS student class sizes, some students will be double billeted. If you would like to volunteer and choose your own roommate, IFS Lodging needs to know this no later than 2 weeks prior to your arrival. You can do this by contacting the Lodging Front Desk at (719) 423-8505. Those sharing a room must be enrolled in the same screening track (i.e. Pilot, CSO, RPA).

The Initial Flight Screening (IFS) program, under the command of the United States Air Force’s Air Education and Training Command (AETC), began operations on 1 October 2006. Doss IFS provides initial flying training, allowing students to successfully transition to Undergraduate Flying Training (Pilot and Combat System Officer, RPA training) at one of several U. S. Air Force bases throughout the United States.
Doss Aviation Inc., headquartered in Colorado Springs, Colorado, has over 40 years of aviation and government contract experience in flight training, aircraft maintenance, air traffic control, maintenance training, fuel and supply management, transient aircraft support services, airfield management, defense fuel support operations, and government contracting is well-equipped to fulfill the contract at the highest possible level.
The IFS program is being fulfilled on a 48 acre campus located in The Pueblo Memorial Airport Industrial Park, immediately adjacent to the Pueblo Memorial Airport. Doss IFS will train between 1500 and 2200 students with the rank of 2nd Lieutenant and above each year. The 208,000 square foot facility houses all Doss IFS administration and flight operations personnel offices, classrooms, 7 flight rooms, modern gymnasium with professional trainers, dining facility, 195 hotel rooms, barber shop and store, 220 seat auditorium and many other features, including 24 hour security. Utilizing the highly efficient and safe Diamond DA20/C1 aircraft, an ISO Quality Control Certified Maintenance facility consisting of three hangars, a state of the art facility and IT network, Doss IFS is known as ‘The Gateway To USAF Aviation’. |
